Camp Kesem at Harvard University is looking for a Mental Health Professional to join our volunteer summer camp team! Our chapter, one of 85 Camp Kesem chapters across the United States, offers a free week-long camp for kids affected by their parent’s cancer. Camp is free to attend, and the camp is planned, managed, and staffed by college student volunteers from Harvard University. During camp, we provide an amazing environment for these children where they can feel free from the issues they face at home and be kids again – all the while giving them the opportunity to open up and connect to counselors and campers, their CK family. Camp will be held from August 19-24, 2017 at Camp Watitoh in Beckett, MA. As a mental health professional you will be responsible for counseling campers and counselors on various issues. Some of these issues are behavioral but others may tie to home situations or bereavement. You must have a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, School Counseling, or a related Mental Health field. Our professional staff team (nurses, mental health professionals, and advisors) help make our camp possible, keeping our kids safe and allowing them to have an incredible life experience. Additionally, our professional staff is seen as part of our camp family, taking part in our goofiest and our most heart-warming moments. If you or someone you know is interested in helping us change the lives of children touched by a parent's cancer by volunteering this August, please email harvard@campkesem.org for more information.
